Eland’s Bay is one of those gems that have managed to elude the rush of development and city dwellers to stake their claim on a piece of the coast – this is sand and sea with little else to lure the average holiday maker. Elands Bay and the neighbouring villages of Redelinghuys, Velddrif and Aurora are magical destinations during the spring wildflower season. Meander along the quiet country back roads for amazing flower discoveries. The nearby towns of Lamberts Bay, Clanwilliam and Veldrift are nearby and make for interesting daytrips. Lamberts Bay is a traditional fishing village where you can still find unspoilt beaches and experience the lives of the friendly local people. Lamberts Bay provides some of the best bird watching in the Western Cape and you can also watch Southern Right whales from June to November. Clanwilliam is situated at the foot of the mighty Cederberg mountain range . It has lots to offer, namely the beauty of the mountains, rock art, bird-watching, lots of historical buildings, the scenic beauty of the flowers (in season), as well as watersports.
